I didn't want to leave you all hanging on how our first visit went with DSS yesterday, so here I am! I think that it went pretty well. Our case worker is a pretty nice man. He gave us a thousand pieces of paperwork to do, I did a lot of mine last night. I want to try and get it all done to turn into him by the middle of the week. He says that if everything goes as planned we can be licensed in 3 months and have children placed with us. Its really exciting, I just hope that it works out. There are only 14 foster families in our county, so they are in high demand.
I am still working on getting pictures to load, blogspot isnt wanting to work with me tonight, I think its this wireless internet.
Good Night!

Feeling..
....Like I want to write in here but not sure what to write about. I have been perusing other blogs of women that are in similar ministries, but their lives are so interesting in comparison to mine. We don't have kids yet to talk about, it seems like my days here @ work just run together. Its a negative that I don't really like. I am thankful to have a steady job and income but I wish it wasn't such an ungodly place. Its really been getting to me lately.
I am really hoping that eventually I can quit this job and be a SAHM someday. My hubby and I are trying to foster kids through the Department of Social Services, I want to be excited about it, but I don't want to get my hopes up. I just want to know for sure if we are going to have the opportunity to help in Children's lives.
On another note, my Dr is letting me try clomid again....its scary medicine for me....It makes me very irritable...you gals need to pray for my hubby during this time!!
Well, I guess that's it for now...pretty dull post...I hope you all have a blessed day!!

Just some things
Since I am new to this community I figured that I would make a list of some of the things about me, so some of you that don't know me in "real" life can get a feel of who I am.
*I am 29 years old.
*I have worked for 5 years for the Local Sheriff Department in the Jail Division.
*My job is very complex and complicated...would take me forever to tell you all that I do...
I will save that for its own entry.

*My husband is the Assistant Pastor @ our church.
*He also has a full time job with the state.
*I recently signed with Mary Kay Cosmetics to become a consultant.
*I am a member of my church's praise team.
*My husband and I are currently working on getting approved by the Department of Social Services to foster/adopt children.
*My husband was taken by DSS when he was a young child due to abuse and was adopted by his wonderful parents when he was 5...thats part of the reason for wanting to give back to the ones that helped him.
* I love the color pink.
* I am addicted to American Idol.
* I am an avid reader, I love chick lit the most.
* My husband and I do a nightly devotional and read at least a chapter of the Bible together every night.
* My husbands name is Keith.
*My husband and I have best friends that are married to each other...Donny and Denise
*I also have another best friend, Karen...she just got married to our good friend, Kellen 3 weeks ago.
* I love pink roses.
*Music is like my anti-drug...I listen to it all the time, and I don't know what I would do if I couldn't sing.
Thats all I can come up with off the top of my head right now....Hope that helps some of you get to know me better.

Sunday
Its Sunday afternoon and I am enjoying a peaceful day. Its been a great weekend. I spent yesterday with my mom and Grandmother shopping. It was nice to just have a girl's day. Last night, My best friend Karen and I had been asked to sing 2 songs at the promotion of our local youth rally. We have the rallies every year, the local churches come together with the Public Safety Department and sponsors it. Its really nice to know that our local government and police department our concerned with our town's youth. Our church was also having a singing, so it had been arranged so that Karen and I could sing first and then leave so that we could get to our church. Our singing was great at the church and afterwards, Karen, her husband Kellen, my husband, Our Pastor and his wife all went out to eat. It was a great time of fellowship and I really enjoyed spending that time with them. The pastor asked us some tough questions on the vision of the church and the callings on our lives, but it was ok. He is just a very blunt and to the point type of person.
We had an awesome service this morning. The Holy Spirit was very present. The praise team did a great job, if I do say so myself( I am on the team). At the end of the service, Pastor asked me, his daughter Jamie, and Karen to stop singing and ask God to show us someone that we needed to go pray with. There was a new lady there on the front row who I went to, she was already crying and I really didn't know what I was suppose to pray for. I put my arms around her and just hugged her and prayed that God would put peace that passes all understanding in her heart and that He would lead and guide her steps. I said alot more than that, but you get my drift. I always feel better when I feel like I may have helped someone.
On another note, I have signed up to sell Mary Kay Cosmetics, like I have any free time now, but its something that I feel led to do and that I want to do.
Well, I guess thats it for now. I hope everyone else is having a pleasant God filled day!!

My First Post
I haven't blogged in a long time. I need to get back into it. I need the support of other women who are in similar situations as me. I am the Assistant Pastor's Wife at a small church in South Carolina. Our church is unique because it houses a men's drug and alcohol program. Its very hard sometimes to get close to the men there because addictions are real and sometimes they get the better of people, even when they really want to get help and change. Addictions are strong holds that the enemy will do whatever it takes to get them to stay where they are and not let God move.
But moving on....Not sure how much traffic that this blog will generate, but I am hoping to connect with other pastor's wives. Some days its hard to be me. I feel really bad when I have days that I don't want to be "saintly" or that I am in a bad mood. I feel like people's eyes are always watching my every mood and I don't want to mess up.
I will be back later to spruce things up in here and tell more about me and my life.
Have a blessed day!
